Written and directed by visual artist Julian Rosefeldt, "Manifesto" is a collection of 13 vignettes that incorporate timeless manifestos from 20th century art movements in a contemporary context. All of the sequences feature Cate Blanchett who delivers a series of monologues as a school teacher, factory worker, choreographer, punk, newsreader, scientist, puppeteer, widow, and a homeless man.

"Manifesto" was originally a 2015 video exhibition in which all 13 vignettes were looped simultaneously on 13 different screens at the Australian Centre of the Moving Image, in Melbourne. It was shot in 12 days. The images were also displayed at the Museum für Gegenwart in Berlin, The Sprengel Museum in Hanover, The Art Gallery of New South Wales and the Park Avenue Armory in New York City. It premiered as a feature-length film at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival and was released in select theaters on May 10th, 2017.
