"The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks" is an HBO film based on the nonfiction book of the same name written by Rebecca Skloot that tells the story of Henrietta Lacks, an African-American woman whose cancerous cells were harvested (without her consent) in 1951 and became a part of medical breakthroughs that changed countless lives and the face of medicine forever.

Directed by George C. Wolfe ("You're Not You"), the film stars Oprah Winfrey, Rose Byrne, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Courtney B. Vance, Reg E. Cathey and Leslie Uggams.

"The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks" airs on HBO tonight at 8p.
