For a second consecutive weekend, "The LEGO Batman Movie" has topped the charts, as newcomers "The Great Wall", "Fist Fight" and "A Cure for Wellness" scored modest results.

Warner Bros' "The LEGO Batman Movie" continues its successful run in theaters with another $34.2 million, adding up to a domestic total of $98.7 million in ten days. The film's four-day weekend figures are expected to end up around $43 million. The film also grossed $72 million overseas.
In second place, "Fifty Shades Darker" took a 55% drop, grossing $20.9 million over the weekend, and is expected to raise that to $24 million at the end of the holiday weekend. The sequel has now grossed $89.6 million domestically and another $187.2 million internationally, all on an estimated budget of $55 million.
The first of the new wide releases, the fantasy epic "The Great Wall" scored a meek $18 million, not all that impressive for a $150 million blockbuster. The four-day weekend is expected to finish at $21 million. However, the film has really hit the jackpot overseas, where it as taken in $244.6 million. Reviews for the film were generally negative (38% on Rotten Tomatoes), but moviegoers were a bit more forgiving ("B" on CinemaScore).
"John Wick: Chapter 2" continues its strong performance at #4 with $16.5 million and an estimated $19.5 million for the four-day weekend. The film has grossed $58.6 million in the U.S., topping the $43 million earned by the first film in its entire theatrical run in just eight days.
The Top 5 is rounded up by another new release, the R-rated comedy "Fist Fight". The film earned $12 million and is expected to finish the holiday weekend with $13 million, versus a budget of 25 million. The film received a negative critical reception (32% on Rotten Tomatoes) and failed to impress audiences ("B" on CinemaScore).
The last of the new wide releases, the horror "A Cure for Wellness" finished the weekend with a terrible $4.2 million. The four-day weekend isn't looking much better as the final result will likely not exceed $5 million. The film cost $40 million to produce, and expectations were pretty low. Reviews were generally mixed (38% on Rotten Tomatoes) and moviegoers were similarly disappointed ("C+" on CinemaScore).
