Nokia Trailer and 3 New Posters for MAN OF STEEL

Michael Shannon stars as General Zod in MAN OF STEEL

A new trailer sponsored by Nokia and three tall banner posters for "Man of Steel" have been released. The trailer focuses a lot on the interactions between Jor El (Russell Crowe), General Zod (Michael Shannon) and Superman (Henry Cavill), and the peril our world is in. Furthermore, the trailer is a showcase for Hans Zimmer's score for the film, which is dark and ominous and kind of resembles his music for "The Dark Knight Rises", particularly in his predominant use of low bass growls, blaring one-note "Inception" brass and his constant use of ostinato rythms throughout. And yet, I still love the man's work. There's also plenty of action in this new trailer. The banner posters are also focused on the three characters previously mentioned, but are not different from previous character posters. "Man of Steel" is produced by Christopher Nolan ("The Dark Knight" trilogy) and stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Russell Crowe, Laurence Fishburne, Kevin Costner and Diane Lane. The release date is June 14, 2013.

Check out the trailer and posters after the jump.

Official Synopsis

man of steel new official poster
"In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves."
