Theatrical Trailer for Roland Emmerich's WHITE HOUSE DOWN

White House Down Channing Tatum Jamie Foxx

A new theatrical trailer has been released for Roland Emmerich's action thriller "White House Down". The film stars Channing Tatum as a cop who must save the President of the United States (Jamie Foxx) and his daughter, after heavily-armed paramilitary forces storm the White House. It's a simple scenario, but it's usually the simple stories that turn out to be the most fun. And "fun" is certainly what Emmerich is aiming for with this film. The dialogue seems to be filled with quips and self-deprecating humor and the action looks a lot like the slam-bang spectacle of the old Schwarzenegger flicks. "Fun" is what I'm hoping "White House Down" will deliver, because that's what summer blockbusters are all about. The film also stars Maggie Gyllenhaal, James Woods, Richard Jenkins, Jason Clarke, Jake Weber and Lance Reddick and opens on June 28, 2013.

"Capitol Policeman John Cale (Channing Tatum) has just been denied his dream job with the Secret Service of protecting President James Sawyer (Jamie Foxx). Not wanting to let down his little girl with the news, he takes her on a tour of the White House, when the complex is overtaken by a heavily armed paramilitary group. Now, with the nation’s government falling into chaos and time running out, it’s up to Cale to save the president, his daughter, and the country."
