Flip Car Featurette for FAST & FURIOUS 6

Fast & Furious 6 Flip Car

What is a flip car ? It's a car flipping cars. Confused ? No problem. In this latest behind-the-scenes featurette for "Fast & Furious 6", the filmmakers explain what it's all about, how this new vehicle was built and they provide some stunningly spectacular stunt footage of the flip car in action. It's really cool that all the stunts are done using practical effects. It's no surprise that the filmmakers insist on reminding us every time that what we see in the film is for real. We live in an age when visual effects have augmented movie reality to the point where it's hard to tell the difference between real and CGI. I don't doubt that this film will use CGI, but it's really cool to see real stunts that look so damn good. "Fast & Furious 6" stars Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Gina Carano, Jordana Brewster and Luke Evans, and will open on May 24, 2013.

Watch the featurette after the jump.

Official Synopsis

Fast and Furious 6 Poster
"Since Dom (Diesel) and Brian’s (Walker) Rio heist toppled a kingpin’s empire and left their crew with $100 million, our heroes have scattered across the globe. But their inability to return home and living forever on the lam have left their lives incomplete. Meanwhile, Hobbs (Johnson) has been tracking an organization of lethally skilled mercenary drivers across 12 countries, whose mastermind (Evans) is aided by a ruthless second-in-command revealed to be the love Dom thought was dead, Letty (Rodriguez). The only way to stop the criminal outfit is to outmatch them at street level, so Hobbs asks Dom to assemble his elite team in London. Payment? Full pardons for all of them so they can return home and make their families whole again."
