Weekend Box-Office Report (March 1-3, 2013)

Jack the Giant Slayer Nicholas Hoult

Bryan Singer's epic adventure "Jack the Giant Slayer" is off to a rocky start. Although it managed to open at #1, it only did so with $28 million, which compared to its $195 million budget is not really that much. The other two new wide releases of the week, "21 and Over" and "The Last Exorcism Part II" underperformed and opened at #3 and #4, respectively, but since both are very low-budget films, they should be all right in the following weeks. Overall, it was a quiet weekend.

More box-office details and the complete top 10, after the jump.

New Wide Releases: "Jack the Giant Slayer", "21 and Over", "The Last Exorcism Part II".

Weekend Total: aprox. $89M.

Biggest Drop : "Dark Skies" (-56%)

Smallest Drop : "Escape From Planet Earth" (-37%)
