Weekend Box-Office Report (February 15-17, 2013)

Bruce Willis A Good Day to Die Hard

As expected, "A Good Day to Die Hard", the fifth installment in the Bruce Willis franchise, opened at #1 for the weekend of February 15-17. It didn't make a lot of money compared to other blockbusters, but it managed to hold its own in the face of the Nicholas Sparks adaptation "Safe Haven" (#3), the animated sci-fi "Escape From Planet Earth" (#4) and the fantasy romance "Beautiful Creatures" (#6). "Identity Thief" managed to come in at #2 and came very close to bringing down the new "Die Hard" movie.

More box-office details and the complete top 10, after the jump.

New Wide Releases: "A Good Day to Die Hard", "Safe Haven", "Escape From Planet Earth", "Beautiful Creatures".

Weekend Total: aprox. $121M.

Biggest Drop : "Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters" (-39%)

Smallest Drop : "Silver Linings Playbook" (-5%)
